Martin Lawrence
Name : Martin Lawrence
Height : 5' 7½" (171 cm)
Date of Birth : 16 April 1965
Place of Birth : Frankfurt-am-Main, Hessen, Germany
Martin Lawrence was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on 16 April 1965, and eventually settled with his family in suburban Maryland at the age of six. Soon after, his father left the family, thus his mother had to support her six children by cashiering in various department stores.

Soon after graduating from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Landover, Maryland, Lawrence earned a chance to perform on Star Search, which led to a role in What's Happening Now! (1985) and by 1989, he won two big breaks: a supporting role in Do the Right Thing and Def Comedy Jam. Lawrence continued to score scene-stealing roles throughout the early '90s, including parts in House Party (1990), House Party 2 (1991), and Boomerang (1992).

In 1992, Lawrence eventually landed his own series, Martin, in which he starred as an oversexed, insensitive black man. The show became a huge success for more than five years and won two NAACP Image Awards. Two years later, Lawrence released the vulgar comedy You So Crazy! which went on to become one of the successful films of the year.

In 1995, Lawrence married former beauty queen Patricia Southall who gave birth to a daughter, Jasmine. Between 1995 and 1999, he starred in four hugely commercial success film, Bad Boys (1995) with Will Smith, Nothing to Lose (1997) with Tim Robbins, Life (1999) with Eddie Murphy, and Blue Streak (1999). These films made Lawrence extremely bankable and cemented his reputation as one of the biggest comic stars. His salary broke the ten-million-dollar mark for Big Momma's House (2000).

After the success of Big Momma's House, he starred alongside Danny DeVito in What's the Worst That Could Happen? (2001) which earned him 13 million dollars. He earned upwards of 16.5 million dollars for Black Knight (2001), which featured Lawrence as an unfortunate employee of a restaurant who finds himself transported back to medieval times. He next starred alongside Steve Zahn in the action comedy National Security (2003) before returning for the sequels to Bad Boys and Blue Streak.
